Our story
The old corner store, open again
A small cafe in Wilston, run by the cook who lives two doors down.
A cafe on our own street
Tessa Marlow, Owner and cook
Tessa Marlow cooked in Brisbane kitchens for twelve years before taking the lease on the old corner store on Kurrajong Lane. It had sat empty for most of a decade; the shelves and the long timber counter are the ones the grocer left behind.
The idea was small on purpose. Breakfast and lunch, good coffee, a short menu that changes when the growers' boxes change, and a room where you can sit for an hour with a newspaper without anyone looking at the clock.
Most of the people who come in live within a few streets. We know a lot of them by their order, and we would like to know you by yours.
